FUFA’s Magogo floats a sports-for-development consortium ahead of AFCON 2027

FUFA president Moses Magogo has been selling a Sports for National Development Consortium as Uganda looks toward AFCON 2027. The pitch is that a home-region championship should leave more behind than a refurbished pitch: training, tourism and school sport. Whether a consortium becomes a budget line or a press conference will be clearer as the federation names partners. Kigezi will not host AFCON matches, but the tournament will still move visitors through Entebbe and, if the roads allow, toward the lakes and gorillas. That is the local stake. _Based on FUFA’s 6 August remarks._
