St Ignatius University Kabale students report on Monday for the August intake
IGUKA has set 17 August as the reporting date. Admissions are still open, the university has been telling headteachers and parents in Kabale Diocese.

Students joining St Ignatius University Kabale for the August intake are expected to report on Monday, 17 August. The university has been repeating that date to headteachers in Kabale Diocese and to parents looking for a local campus rather than a bus to Kampala. IGUKA opened in January 2024 with 48 students and has since grown past 300. Programmes on the books include education, tourism, agriculture, business, and diplomas in laboratory science and medical records. Chairperson of the diocesan primary headteachers, Pius Rwakimari, has asked schools to point teachers toward the holiday upgrade courses. Diocesan education secretary Byamukama Remegio has said promotions still follow the paper: qualifications first. Monday is a reporting day, not a graduation. Joy FM will treat empty lecture rooms after the 17th as the real test of whether the intake filled. _Based on St Ignatius University Kabale’s public briefings, 14 August 2026._
